At the workshop you will learn different techniques such as:

solid,
semi solid,
speckled and
ice dyeing techniques.

In this workshop you will begin to learn about working with acid dyes and working with 100% Merino in your home. This will kick start you into learning the basic principles of dyeing.

It is important in this workshop to understand the principles of colour, what goes together and how some yarns turn out beautiful and how some just look dreadful to the eye. You need to understand what works well for your skin type and what doesn't.

We also look at dyeing solids, semi solids, speckled dyeing and give you the opportunity to dye up to 300 grams of yarn in the way that suits you.

It is a hands on workshop and it's entirely up to you what you return home with.

I will provide you with the yarn, dyes and a workbook.

Please bring:

  • your own lunch (tea and coffee and water and snacks will be freely available)
  • a roll of glad-wrap
  • some plastic bags to take your yarn home
  • paper towels
  • some plastic gloves
  • and a mask
  • some rags to clean up your mess
  • a glass pie dish (many are available from the op shop)
  • a plastic rubbish bag.
  • and YOURSELF!
If you forget something I will have spares!

This will be a hands on workshop where you will leave with yarn ready to be created into multiple projects and you on a new creative journey!
